The Cowboys Playoff Outlook

Week 11 of the National Football League has come to an end and things are getting more exciting week by week... well at least for the teams that are still in the playoff hunt. As we reach week 11, there is more and more talk about the playoff picture and teams that are grinding to get into the playoff picture. The Dallas Cowboys have been one of those teams talked about a lot as only 6 games remain.

If you have been keeping up with my blog you would know that the cowboys were at 4 wins and 3 losses when I last left off. Dallas has played 3 games since then and done what they needed to put themselves atop of the NFC East.

Dallas played an inferior New York Giants team in week 9 and took care of business, as I promised would happen in the previous blog. Dallas got up early and when they do that, good things usually happen for them and they were victorious 37-18. Zeke Elliot ran for 139 yards and was the player of the game.

The Vikings traveled to Dallas in week 10 and that was an anticipated matchup as both teams are fighting for a spot in the playoff picture. The Vikings came into the contest at 6 wins and 3 losses and the Cowboys were at 5-3. The Vikings got up 14-0 quick and Dallas was in a deep hole from there. They fought back and heading into the 4th were only down a touchdown. They failed to pull off the comeback and took a tough, but understandable loss.

Week 11 had another ¨must win¨ feel to it for the Cowboys. The (3-5-1) Detroit Lions traveled to good old Dallas to face the desperate team. Dak Prescott and company took care of the deceivingly tough Lions team. Despite a losing record, the Lions had led in every game they have played this year. It was a back and forth contest but the better team prevailed. Dak Prescott threw for an outstanding 444 yards and kept people believing that they can be a scary team down this stretch.

Dak was feeling like this after that game and he has every right to. He is getting talk around his name for the possibility of being the Most Valuable Player this season.

Winning 3 of the last 4 games have put the Cowboys alone in first place in their division. They have 6 games remaining and if they can win 4 out of their last 6, I think that is the magic number for them to be playing in January.

It will not be easy though, as they play the (9-1) dominant Patriots next week, followed by (7-3) Buffalo. They also play the desperate (6-4) Rams and VERY desperate (5-5) Eagles.

After watching them this week I think they really do have what it takes to win 4 if not 5 games down this playoff push. Their defense might not be the best in the league but I truly do not believe there is another offense as balanced with as many stars as the Cowboys have.

This is my last blog of this series and I have enjoyed following the Cowboys closer this year and cannot wait to see what the rest of this football season has to offer. Since I will not be giving any more updates on their season I am gonna leave my predictions on how their season plays out.

Regular-season record: 10 wins - 6 losses (This will win them the NFC East)

Playoffs: They will win their Wild Card game and go on to win the divisional round too. Their season will end in the NFC Conference championship in a heartbreaker.
